Fresh Insights on Popular End Times Concepts
Chapter one of R. Loren Sanford’s new book “A Vision of Hope for the End Times – Why I Want to Be Left Behind” provides definitions applicable to the themes of prophecy, apocalyptic, the rapture, the great tribulation, and pre and postmillennialism interpretations.
Sanford has a strong commitment to the truth of the Word of God and to responsible scholarship rooted in cultural background, linguistics, and textual contents. He sheds new light on and fresh insights into popular end-time concepts; the Mark of the Beast, the Antichrist, the Great Tribulation, and other prophetic themes.
A careful look at the Millennialism’s three views is summarized; the origin, the leaders and the misconceptions presented. A careful chart depicting the Apostle John’s revelation presents an excellent view of the 7 Seals Broken, one event refracted four ways.
Sanford’s writing is straightforward, illuminating, and relevant. He is careful to make clear that the interpretation of these prophecies is not a condition for man’s salvation nor as core values of the faith giving the reason for division among believers.
Whatever your position Sanford’s “A Vision of Hope for the End Times – Why I Want to Be Left Behind” will be a challenge to “preach a victorious gospel in keeping with the resurrection.”
