Experiencing an Unfathomable Closeness to God in Perilous Times

Honest and open about her personal struggles as a victim of fear, when faced with the uncertainty of these perilous times, Jean Nigro tells her story of experiencing intimacy with God, in “Unshaken – Standing Strong in Uncertain Times.” Readers are challenged to consider the question: How can we make a difference in this turbulent world today until Jesus Returns?

Nigro is passionate about her message of discovering joy in the presence of the Lord.  She describes how our service for God, our activities, and our relationships are all meant to be the result of an overflow of focusing on our main purpose in life, growing in intimacy with God.”

Jeanne uses the analogy of a football game to depict the use of offensive steps and defensive strategies to break free from anything that would block this intimacy. She reveals God’s action plan for the Millennium, and provides important and profound insights into the Old Testament prophecies regarding the role and significance of the feasts of Israel in our worship. Other features of the book include: Practical guidelines for battling spiritual warfare and important concepts on the importance of concentrating on truths already known rather than the questions of the unknown.

“Unshaken” is highly endorsed by well-known Christian leaders as: powerful, relevant, practical and fulfilling. Nigro’s writing is insightful in content, articulate in delivery, and fascinating in discovery. The format of the book grabs the reader’s attention, insures retention, and results in resolution, and action.

“ Unshaken” is highly recommend for anyone inundated by fear as a result of the political and social instability of today’s world, and are looking for a better understanding of God’s plan for the future.

A New Look at Womanhood Embraced by a New Generation – A New Covenant Platform for Christian Women

In her timely, Biblically based book “God’s Feminist Movement” Amber Picota redefines feminism for today’s generation of Christian women. She describes these women as “gracious, humble, wise, gentle yet strong, diligent, and pure in heart; revolutionaries who shape the course of history.”

Her goal is to equip the reader, women and men, co-heirs in the body of Christ, to study the scriptures in light of the historical background, hermeneutics, and the original languages, to put aside preconceived concepts, and to discern for themselves the application of theses passages to make them applicable for a contemporary setting.

The subjects of women in leadership, submission in marriage, headship, and the cost of trail blazing are especially relevant for today. These are important issues that are being faced in business, education, and politics, issues that cannot be minimized in church life. Picota urges the reader to lead the way in breaking away from traditional misconceptions, and trite clichés to claim the promises and follow the patterns of the New Covenant.

I was deeply moved by Amber’s personal testimony of coming to Christ, the struggles that followed and the unique way that God worked in her spirit to a commitment of her life to fulfill His purpose.

Amber writes from heartfelt convictions, her message is convincing, contagious, and commanding. “God’s Feminist Movement – Redefining “A Woman’s Place” from a Biblical Perspective” is important reading for pastors, organizational ministries, and lay leaders in the Church in this and future generations.

Heaven Made Real – A Guide to the Afterlife and Eternity – A Book Review

Heaven Made Real – A Biblical Guide to the Afterlife and Eternity

Frequently Asked Questions – Answers on Heaven, Biblical Truths – Straight from God’s Word

Tim Sheets’ book “Heaven Made Real – A Biblical Guide to the Afterlife and Eternity” addresses some of the most frequently asked questions regarding life after death, the reality of heaven,  heaven’s location and appearance, what we will look like and about details of life in heaven.

Tim Sheets refutes some of the fallacies and preconceived misconception “of heaven on earth,” and the importance of assembling together with other believers in the church body. In addition to the mention of Old Testament references of heaven in Deuteronomy, in the book of Joshua, the Psalms, and the prophets, Ezekiel, Jeremiah, and Isaiah, New Testament references of the Apostles. Matthew, John, Paul, and Peter add a new depth to our understanding of heaven.

Sheets also includes testimonies of contemporary people who have experienced visions and dreams providing comfort and confirmation of loved one being in heaven, while worshiping in the spirit, caught up in the spirit, or praying in the spirit. He rejects some of the misconceptions and preconceived precepts of heaven on earth, and emphasizes the importance of assembling together with other believers in the church body.

I appreciated the deep insight Sheet’s brings to the Great Cloud of Witnesses described in Hebrews, chapter 12 and stimulated a desire to read more from the authors included in Sheet’s research.

“Heaven Made Real – A Biblical Guide to the Afterlife and Eternity” challenges Christians today to live “in this confident expectation…and the promise of eternal rest and of the presence of God Himself.” Challenging.

Holy Spirit Inspired Revelation – True Biblical Reformation

In the book “Snakes in the Temple – Unmasking Idolatry in Today’s Church,” visionary and prophetic teacher David Orton challenges his readers to consider the possibilities of reformation, revival, and worldwide spiritual awakening if the Christian Church of today were to restore its Biblical foundations, and to join the next generation in a commitment to see this come to fruition.

The book is organized into three sections. Chapters one through three explore the dream of future revival, while envisioning a spiritual awakening. Section two describes the present realities and a diagnosis of the idolatry found in the church of today. Section three outlines the steps needed for a spiritual breakthrough and a restoration of the glory of the Lord in the church of tomorrow.

Orton draws from spirit breathed scriptures to develop a thorough history of earlier revival in the church, which came about through restoration of worship, harvest, and awakening. He is genuine in his evaluation and in his analysis of the present status and decline of the church.

His conclusions, proposals, call to Holiness, and his prescription for renewal are well thought out, however, they may seem radical to some. Whether Charismatic, Evangelical, or Missional in theological stand, every reader will find practical principles for Christian living, spiritual growth, restoration of Biblical truth, and  revival in the Church.

Understanding God’s Plan for Redemption, Righteous Living, and Fellowship

Bishop Bill Hamon helps the reader answer the question “How Can These Things Be? – A Preacher and a Miracle Worker but Denied Heaven” in his book by this same title. He begins by clarifying some important keys to understanding basic Christian theology: God’s purpose in creating man, the doctrine of sin, the prophecies of Jesus Christ, His plan for the Church, and the importance of the bodily resurrection.

He goes on to expose some of the most controversial issues facing the church today by identifying true and false ministers, prophets, and ministries. He uses specific examples in light of Scriptural teaching to warn the reader of the danger of deception and helps them recognize strange doctrine and the spirit of error.

Bishop Hamon’s work is well organized, solid in content, presented in a reader friendly format, and written in layman’s terms for easier understanding. I personally enjoyed his use of topical headings within the chapters, his frequent use of alliteration, and his use of lists, for example: “The Ten M s for Maturing and Maintaining ministry,” and “Eight Major Reasons God Created Man.”

Bishop Hamon is an anointed Bible teacher, a natural communicator, and a gifted prophetic minister. “How Can These Things Be? A Preacher and a Miracle Worker but Denied Heaven” is a Clarian call to Christians today to avoid false teachers, deceptive doctrine, and to discern truth, a timely and important message.
